Val found in late March that she had cancer and
was diagnosed with Chariocarcinoma Cancer. She has not been able to work. In order for her to get her treatments she is having to travel back and forth to Charleston, SC. She lives and works in Myrtle Beach, SC. If you have ever been in Texas Road House she may have waited on you. Family and Friends here are having a yard sale and bake sale to help with her Medical Expenses. Any support you could come and give would be awesome. There also will be a raffle for a home made quilt that has been donated along with other items. ***Rain date September 30th***

Infant Mortality Walk to Remember
46 empty strollers will be pushed through downtown Greensboro, ending in Center City Park, to represent each baby that died last year. The Coalition is partnering with community agencies, One Main Financial, and North Carolina Baby Love Plus, and Mayor Nancy Vaughan will provide opening remarks for this event.

This is our local band contest hosted by the high school band. High School bands gather here during the afternoon to compete in various classes based on the size of their band. We typically have 15-18 bands from North Carolina and Virginia participating. Sponsorships for this event are available for purchase by our community members.
